# Word Preparation #

## fairy tale: 童话故事 ##

a story with magic, imaginary creatures, and usually a happy ending.

I used to read fairy tales all the time when I was a child.  
小的时候，我经常读童话故事。

Disney makes most of their movies from fairy tales.  
迪士尼（电影公司）的大多数电影改编自童话故事。

## magical: 有魔力的 ##

produced by or using magic

Lisa likes to pretend she lives in a magical world.  
Lisa喜欢假装自己生活在一个魔幻世界里。

It would be cool if people could have magical power.  
如果人能拥有魔力，该多酷。

## creature: 生物，动物 ##

anything that is living, such as an animal, fish, or insect, but not a plant

There are many strange creatures living in this forest.  
这座森林里生活着许多稀奇古怪的生物。

This kind of creature only comes out at night.  
这种动物只在夜间出没。

## short story: 短篇小说 ##

a story with a theme that has a few characters and not a lot of details

I prefer reading short stories to novels.

This short story should only take half an hour to read.

## imaginary character: 虚构的人物 ##

a person that only appears in a book or film and is not real

Harry Porter is not a real person; he’s only an imaginary character.

Who is your favorite imaginary character?  
你最喜欢的虚构人物是谁？

## make-believe: 想象的，虚构的 ##

imaginary; not real

I wish this was a true story, but it’s only make-believe.

Children like make-believe stories because they like to use their imagination.  
孩子们喜欢虚构的故事，因为他们喜欢发挥自己的想象力。

# Grammar #

## Objective clause 宾语从句 ##

I don’t know **who she is**.  
从句位于宾语的位置充当宾语的作用。

*  He said **that it was very cold in Moscow**.
 *  I don’t think **(that) there’s a computer store in the town**.
 *  You tell me **what you’d like to eat** and I’ll order it.
 *  Could you tell me **when you go to work in the morning every day**?
