## witness: 亲眼目击 ##

to see something happen, especially an accident or crime

I witnessed a horrible car accident on the freeway yesterday.

There were only a few people who witnessed what happened at the scene.

## talk: 讲话，谈话 ##

a speech or discussion

## motivational speaker: 离职演说家；励志大师 ##

a person who gives speeches intended to motivate people to do sth.

# present participle as adverbial (modifier) #

动词的现在分词做状语，相当于状语从句；用于表示时间，原因，结果，条件，方式，让步，或者伴随情形，以及独立成分等。  
**注意：** 作时间、原因、条件、让步状语时多位于句首；作结果，伴随情况时常位于句末。

*  Seeing those pictures, she remembered her childhood.
 *  Hearing the good news, he jumped with joy.
 *  She was so angry that she threw the toy on the ground, breaking it into pieces.
